Ms. Sylvie Beauregard Elected Warden of the Brome-Missisquoi RCM
Cowansville, November 18, 2025 – At the Council of Mayors meeting held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Council members proceeded with the election of the warden and deputy warden, granting them a four-year mandate.
The mayors unanimously nominated Ms. Sylvie Beauregard, Mayor of Cowansville, as Warden of the Brome-Missisquoi RCM. She will preside over the Council and ensure the implementation of the major orientations aimed at the harmonious and sustainable development of the territory.
Mr. Daniel Tétreault, Mayor of Notre-Dame-de-Stanbridge, was re-elected as Deputy Warden.
Dedicated Elected Officials for the Future of Brome-Missisquoi
“I am deeply grateful for the trust my colleagues have placed in me to take on this new role,” stated newly elected Warden Sylvie Beauregard. “I am committed to working closely with all municipalities. Together, we will continue to move forward with rigor and ambition to meet the needs of our communities and bring to life the orientations of our territorial strategic plan.”
For his part, Mr. Daniel Tétreault expressed his enthusiasm to continue in his role: “I am proud to remain Deputy Warden. It is a privilege to contribute to the development of our RCM and to support our new Warden in carrying out her mission.”
Appreciation and New Beginnings
The new warden and the administrative team of the RCM warmly thank Mr. Patrick Melchior, Mayor of Farnham and outgoing Warden, for his leadership, dedication, and contribution over the past six years. The RCM also wishes to acknowledge the contribution and involvement of the outgoing mayors during the previous mandate, while enthusiastically welcoming the newly elected officials joining the Council. This renewal of the Council represents an opportunity to strengthen intermunicipal collaboration and to continue advancing the major initiatives that shape the future of our region.
The Role of the Warden
The warden presides over the council composed of the mayors of the 21 member municipalities. Their role is to represent the RCM, mobilize municipalities around joint initiatives, and oversee regional development, acting as spokesperson for the entire population of the Brome-Missisquoi RCM.
