Notice to applicants on the waiting list: additional funding for 2026-2027

A budget of $30 million has been allocated to the program for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. This funding is in addition to the amount announced by the government in the November 2025 Economic Update.

Program objective

The Home Adaptation Program (HAP) provides financial assistance for home modification work that enables people with disabilities to carry out essential daily activities and remain in their homes.

Financial assistance of up to $50,000 is available.

Applications reopen

The Société d'habitation du Québec (SHQ) has announced that applications for the Home Adaptation Program will reopen on August 12, 2026.

As of that date, residents wishing to apply for the program will be required to complete the new online application form available on the program's webpage. The electronic form will simplify the application process and help ensure more efficient processing of applications.

For individuals who do not have access to a computer or an Internet connection, a paper application form will remain available upon request by contacting the SHQ at 1-800-463-4315, option 1.
