Residential Adaptation Assistance Program (RAAP)

Notice to applicants on the waiting list: additional funding for 2025-2026

A budget of $30 million has been allocated to the program for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. This amount is in addition to the funding announced by the government during the November 2025 economic update.

These funds will allow for the continued processing of applications from individuals already enrolled in the program, including those whose registration was confirmed in January 2026 after a waiting period.

The processing of applications for the repair of specialized equipment is also ongoing.

Program objective

The Home Adaptation Program (HAP) enables persons with disabilities—that is, individuals with an impairment resulting in a significant and persistent disability who face barriers in carrying out daily activities—to receive financial assistance to adapt their home.

The financial assistance may reach up to $50,000. An assessment of needs by an occupational therapist is required.
