The brand-new Brome–Yamaska bus route is now officially running between the two territories!

Cowansville, August 26, 2025 – The Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska RCMs are proud to announce the official launch of the Brome–Yamaska bus route: since yesterday, two 24-seat buses have been serving the 14 stops located across their territories. Residents are invited to discover this local, reliable, affordable, and practical transportation option—whether for school, work, medical appointments, or simply exploring the region.

This new service makes it much easier to travel between the cities of Granby, Bromont, Cowansville, East Farnham, and Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby. The two buses operate simultaneously in opposite directions to ensure full coverage, balanced travel times, and optimal access to residential, industrial, educational, and healthcare hubs.

The list of stops and schedules are available on the RCM websites:

An app to track your bus in real time

To make the experience even easier and more user-friendly, riders of the Brome–Yamaska interregional route can now use the Zenbus app free of charge. This modern tool, already in use in several regions of Quebec, allows users to:

  • track buses live on an interactive map;
  • view estimated arrival times at each stop;
  • receive notifications in the event of delays or service changes.

Thanks to geolocation installed on the buses, riders can plan their trips with greater precision and confidence. The Zenbus app is available free on the App Store, Google Play, and in a web version.

A service that is accessible, comfortable, and designed for today’s riders

The Brome–Yamaska route runs Monday through Friday, on business days, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. The buses are modern, air-conditioned, and designed for passenger comfort. To further promote sustainable mobility, bike racks have been installed, making it easy for riders to combine public transit with cycling.

Fares are simple: riders can purchase a booklet of 10 tickets for $40 or pay $5 per ride directly on the bus, in cash.

A promising project for sustainable mobility

“The Brome–Yamaska route brings to life a key objective of our 2024–2034 Strategic Plan: developing alternatives to single-occupant car travel that meet the needs of our territory. This pilot project, like all of our transportation initiatives launched this year, demonstrates our commitment to building a sustainable and resilient living environment,” said Patrick Melchior, Warden of the Brome-Missisquoi RCM.

“What a pleasure to finally be able to offer such a service to our population! Public transit is an essential service that democratizes mobility and fosters independence. It gives our citizens one more option, and the Haute-Yamaska RCM is proud to contribute to it,” added Paul Sarrazin, Warden of the Haute-Yamaska RCM.

The enhancement of Brome-Missisquoi’s public transit offer is made possible through funding from the Signature Innovation stream of the Regions and Rurality Fund of the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation (MAMH), as well as from the Haute-Yamaska RCM. This support is part of the Smart and Territorial Mobility Innovation Lab (LI-MIT) project, whose main objective is to design and deploy innovative passenger transportation solutions.
