Granby, July 15, 2025 — The MRCs of Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska are pleased to share details about a brand-new interregional bus route that will connect the municipalities of Cowansville, Bromont, Granby, Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby, and East Farnham. Highly anticipated by the community, this loop route will launch on August 25, 2025, just in time for the back-to-school season for both high school and CEGEP students.
The operation contract has been awarded to Transdev Québec Inc. following a public call for tenders. Two 24-seat buses will provide service: one running clockwise, and the other counter-clockwise. This setup reduces wait times and optimizes travel durations depending on the destination. No reservations will be required.

Stops and Schedule
The final locations of the 14 stops will be determined after trial runs. Once this testing phase is completed, an interactive map will be made available on the MRCs' websites and through a mobile app. The tool will allow users to locate stops, check detailed schedules, and track buses in real time. Citizens are encouraged to stay tuned for updates.
Key stops will include:
Good news for cyclists: bike racks will be added, making it easy for active mobility users to combine cycling with public transit.
“We are very proud of this historic agreement that connects the two territories of our MRCs. At last, residents can count on a sustainable and practical transportation option to get to school, work, or simply to explore the unique tourist attractions of our regions,” said Paul Sarrazin, Warden of the MRC of Haute-Yamaska.
“This new bus route reflects our strong commitment to sustainable mobility and aligns perfectly with our values. Since 2005, with the rollout of a rural public transit service across our territory, the MRC of Brome-Missisquoi has been continuously expanding its offering to help residents discover new environments,” added Patrick Melchior, Warden of the MRC of Brome-Missisquoi.
The Brome–Yamaska Bus Route is a one-year pilot project, which will be reviewed once actual usage and community needs have been evaluated.
This new addition to Brome-Missisquoi’s transportation services is made possible thanks to funding from the “Signature Innovation” stream of the Regions and Rurality Fund (administered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, MAMH), as well as support from the MRC of Haute-Yamaska. The initiative is part of the “Smart and Territorial Mobility Innovation Lab” (LI-MIT) project, which aims to develop and implement innovative transportation solutions for rural and regional communities.
