Religion in schools

Quebec’s public schools are secular, meaning that your child is not taught any particular religion. Schools do not display religious symbols, and Christmas and Easter are not celebrated in a religious context. Neither God nor Jesus is celebrated at Christmas or Easter.

In high school, your child may learn the main theories of humanity’s five major religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
