Haggling

Haggling is uncommon in Quebec and Canada. The price displayed in a store is the sales price and you cannot negotiate. It is not a sign of good manners to haggle in Quebec and can in fact be seen as irritating behaviour.

You can haggle at garage sales or on websites such as Kijiji and Facebook Marketplace only. For websites that sell used items, the seller will say whether the price is negotiable. Be careful and use your judgment. Don’t haggle if it is already being sold for a low price, as the seller might be insulted!
