High Speed Internet

It’s confirmed, high speed internet will now be available everywhere in Brome-Missisquoi all the way to the last house at the end of  every country road! Starting in 2018, a new network of fibre optics will be deployed where a wired service is not available. All homes, businesses, industries and institutions currently without a high speed internet service will be covered.

FAQ

Who will be covered by this new high speed Internet service?
All Brome-Missisquoi residents who currently do not have access to a cable or fibre optic network will have access to Internet by fibre optics when the project will be completed.
When will it be available at my address?
It will take between 3 and 5 years to build the entire network. Certain sectors will be linked in less time.
How will I be informed of the availability of the service?
Residents wanting the service will be able to register online at : https://ihrtelecom.com/request-for-a-quote/ . Pamphlets will also be distributed door to door announcing the availability of the service.
Will I have a choice of Internet distributors?
IHR Télécom will be available as soon as the network will be launched, other Internet providers will be able to join the network and offer their services afterwards.
What will be the speed offered?
With IHR Telécom, the basic package will be 10 Mbit/s, you will also have access to 30 Mbit/s and 125 Mbit/s offers.
Will there be an installation cost to have the service at home?
With IHR Telécom, there are no fees for the standard installation. Some fees may apply for certain operations (extra outlet, telephone line transfer and activation, etc.).
Will I have fibre optics directly at home?
Yes, you will have access to fibre to the home (FTTH). Once you’ve subscribed to the service, a fibre cable will be installed in your home and to the receiver equipment.
Will the weather affect the service?
No antenna or dish is needed for access to the service. There will be no loss of signal or loss of speed in the case of bad weather. As long as the fibre is active, the signal will be transmitted to your home without any loss of quality.
How much will the service cost per month?
With IHR Telécom, the Fibre 10 packages, giving access to 10 Mbit/s in speed, will start at $46.95. Higher speeds will also be available.
Will there be rates offered to businesses?
With IHR Telécom, the rates offered to business will be the same as those offered to residential clients. Packages exceeding 125 Mbit/s will be available on demand. Packages at very high speed will be available up to 10 Gbit/s.
Will there be bundle packages offered (phone and television)?
Phone and television bundles will be offered.
Will all three services be available at the same time?
As soon as the signal will be available, you will have access to all three services if wanted (Internet, phone and television).
